Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber close Justin’s years of drama with a photo

Believe it or not, Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber have left the past behind once and for all.

For years, fans have ruthlessly pitted the two women against each other for daring to date the same hugely popular pop star. Despite the model having been happily married to husband Justin Bieber since 2018, a certain part of the internet can’t get over the singer’s long-term romance with Gomez.

Weeks after both denounced the online hatred that swirled around them, Gomez and Bieber sent another clear message to fans, posing for their first public photo alongside the 2022 Academy Museum Gala on Saturday night.

While the two made it separately to the star-studded event, which honored industry legends like Julia Roberts and Spike Lee, they huddled inside the venue.

In photos taken during the event, the two pose cheek to cheek, with Gomez holding Bieber by the waist in another shot.

The moment was captured by photographer Tyrell Hampton, who shared the photo of the duo in an Instagram post on Sunday afternoon along with the caption “twist”.

Gomez wore a black tuxedo jacket and matching pants to the gala, while Bieber arrived in a chocolate brown cut-out dress by Saint Laurent.

The photo comes after both Bieber and Gomez spoke candidly about the rumors and toxicity that tied them together for years.

The model and influencer addressed critics of her relationship with Bieber in a revealing interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast last month, shutting down speculation that there was an overlap between their two relationships.

“When he and I started dating or something, he was never in a relationship, at any point,” she explained. “It’s not my temper to ruin someone’s relationship.”

Bieber said she had been targeted for years by fans rooting for Justin Bieber and Gomez to get back together, which she said led her to “think, like, that she wasn’t worth it anymore or that he didn’t want to be here anymore. ”

He also made it clear that he had spoken privately with the founder of Rare Beauty, insisting that there is no unspoken feud between the two.

“That’s why I’m like, it’s all respect. It’s all love, “Bieber said.” That’s also why I feel like everyone on our side knows what happened and we’re fine and we can walk away with clarity and respect, so, like, that’s fine. ”

Gomez promptly addressed Bieber’s comments after the interview, asking all so-called fans to cease the social media attacks on his behalf.

“I think some of the things I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting, and that’s not fair, and no one, ever, should be talked about the way I’ve seen,” the “Murder Only star” ‘building, “he said in the video on his TikTok account. “All I have to say is that it is incredibly ironic that I publish something that is all based on kind words, because that’s exactly what I want. That’s all.”

“If you support Rare,” Gomez continued, referring to her beauty line, “I can’t thank you enough, but know that it also represents what it means. And that is: words matter. It really matters.”

“So, it doesn’t come from me. And I just want you all to know that I hope you understand that this is so much bigger than anything else, “he added.” And I’m really grateful to all of you for listening to me. So, have a nice continuation of your day. “
