In an episode of Keeping up with the KardashiansKim shared her frustration as she perused beach photos from her Mexico vacation, which showed her in a black bikini and gray tank top.
“Fuck it! I don’t understand! Like, I literally don’t look like that,” she exclaimed. “I need to get rid of everything. I will literally walk right in and start taking the tags off.
Kim later insisted during an appearance on The sight that the photos had been digitally manipulated to make her look bad.
The paparazzi agency denied her claim that the photos had been doctored, but Kim has since gone to great lengths to ensure she looked nothing less than flawless at every opportunity.
And the latest episode of The Kardashians reiterated the lengths Kim will go to to ensure she gets a good photo for the gram, when the star revealed that she hires a photographer to do a mini photoshoot in her hotel room before attending any red carpets.
Kim insisted it was “so easy” to use this “trick” in case she ran into bad lighting once at the event, that it would leave her with no usable photos of her looks.
Cameras caught Kim doing her pre-event shoot before this year’s Met Gala, where she sparked controversy wearing Marilyn Monroe’s 1962 gown.
Because the gown is so flimsy, Kim wasn’t able to wear it in transit, and instead walked to the Met in her Skims and a dressing gown before changing in a pop-up dressing room at the beginning of the carpet.
But Kim was filmed carefully donning the dress with the help of gloved assistants while still in her hotel room.
“I discovered this trick last Met,” Kim explained. “It’s so easy to bring in a photographer and have, like, a whole room set up and take pictures first because you have no idea… You want a clean picture.”
“You have no idea, at the Met, who’s going to be in the background and what the lighting is going to look like and what it’s going to be like,” he continued. “There’s nothing worse than bad red carpet lighting, and with the wrong lighting you’re screwed.”
Kim then walked to the background of the waiting photo, where she admitted she was afraid to touch the dress as she posed for the cameras.
“After we take the photos, we take off the dress, transfer it to the Met carpet and a little dressing room off to the side,” she added. “Because it’s too fragile to wear outside and to get in the car, there are too many risk factors.”
As soon as filming wrapped, Kim was true to her word and took off her dress.
And she was thoughtful enough to allow her sister time with her personal photographer, too, with Khloé also being filmed taking part in a pre-carpet photo shoot.
As expected, Kim and Khloé’s red carpet photos looked incredible, but they didn’t let the hotel pics go to waste as they shared each other’s final pics on their own Instagram accounts.
This is the second time in the current season of The Kardashians where we saw Kim obsessing over the way she looks in photos and requesting approval of what is released into the public domain.
Just last month, fans saw Kim whip out her laptop in the middle of a party so she could approve the pictures she just snapped.
Kim was in Miami with her sister, Khloé Kardashian, and some friends to celebrate the launch of her new Skims range.
The group was swarmed by paparazzi on their way to a celebratory dinner, and when they returned to their hotel suite Kim shut out everyone else as she perused the photos on her laptop.
When Khloé asked what she was up to, Kim didn’t even take her eyes off her screen as she explained that she was “approving” the night’s photos.
It’s no secret that Kim and her sisters are guilty of using editing tools before posting photos on Instagram, and Kim insisted that other girls would thank her for making image editing her top priority.
Speaking in a confessional, Kim said: “Those were pictures from the dinner. You have approved all images within our Skims pop-up. I don’t trust anyone else to tell me when I’m okay.
“Bitch, you’ll thank me later,” he snapped later. “Because I’m editing all of our fucking pictures to get rid of all the bad ones, and they have to go to press tonight.”
“I’ll tell you if Malika looks bad, I’ll erase it. Even though I look amazing,” Kim added. “No one else is going to look at 10 people in a photo, but I am.”
