Restaurateur Keith McNally disqualified James Corden from his upscale New York City restaurant Balthazar after previously accusing the night host of “abusive” behavior.
McNally called Corden a “dumb little man” in an Instagram post Monday, claiming the actor verbally abused the restaurant staff and made a fuss about the food he was served.
“[He’s] the most offensive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago, “McNally wrote.” Often not a customer, 86 [but] today i have 86’d corden. She didn’t make me laugh. “” 86 “is culinary jargon referring to the rejection of unavailable menu items or, in this case, customers who are no longer welcome.
The comedian, who is exiting “The Late Late Show” in 2023, called McNally later that day and apologized “profusely,” which prompted McNally to lift the ban.

“Having fucked myself more than most people, I strongly believe in second chances,” Balthazar’s owner wrote in another Instagram post Monday.
McNally cheekily asked Corden if he could host his late night CBS show before encouraging him to return to the restaurant.
“But … anyone who is magnanimous enough to apologize to a slacker like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned anywhere,” concluded the restaurateur. “All is forgiven. Xx”
McNally previously published detailed documentation of Corden’s outbursts. Balthazar’s manager reported that the comedian asked for free drinks after finding a hair in his food.

“Bring us another round of drinks this second. And take care of all our drinks so far as well. Like this me [won’t] write bad reviews on Yelp or something, ”Corden would say.
In a separate incident, Corden dined in Balthazar with his wife Julia Carey on October 9. The comedian’s wife ordered an egg yolk omelette and found some mixed egg white. The couple warned the server of the error.
After returning with a new omelette, the kitchen staff mistakenly paired it with homemade fries instead of the salad that Corden’s wife had ordered. Corden then started “screaming like crazy” at the server.
“You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job!” Corden would have screamed. “Maybe I should go to the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!”
The room manager then intervened and gave the couple glasses of champagne to ease the tensions. The manager reported that Corden was nice to him but “mean” to the server.
