Colts owner Jim Irsay sees the “merit” of removing Dan Snyder as the owner of the commanders

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is the first of his group in the NFL to say that having his team sold to Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder should be considered.

In New York for the NFL fall meetings, Irsay is concerned about Snyder in Washington following an investigation that found a very toxic work environment.

Irsay added that the league would “potentially” have a majority vote if it were extended to all owners. To do so, 24 of the 32 NFL owners would have had to vote for Snyder’s removal, but that has never happened in league history.

A spokesman for the commanders said, “It is highly inappropriate, but not surprising, that Mr. Irsay has chosen to make statements publicly based on falsehoods in the media,” NFL Network reports.

This statement from Irsay comes after an ESPN report revealed that Snyder told an associate he had enough information to “blow up” several other NFL owners, adding that the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell “can’t fuck with. myself”.

He also reportedly told another confidant that “the NFL is a mafia” and “all the other owners hate each other.” Another team owner told ESPN it was fake and “all owners hate Dan”.

“Some of the things I’ve heard don’t represent us at all,” Irsay explained. “I want the American public to know what we do as owners. … You can’t avoid the fact that, I believe it’s in the best interest of the National Football League that we look this straight in the eye and face it.”

The fear of reprisals is one of the themes underlying the report. An NFL executive even described Snyder as “the most powerful owner in the NFL” due to whatever information he might have known, according to the report.

Snyder’s attorneys John Brownlee and Stuart Nash, partner of Holland & Knight, and a spokesman for the commanders vehemently denied the claims in the report.

“This is categorically false,” Brownlee and Nash told ESPN of the dossier’s claims. “It has no ‘dossiers’ compiled on any owner”.

The NFL fined the organization $ 10 million and co-CEO Tanya Snyder was told to focus on team issues while Daniel Snyder was told to focus on other issues following the outcome of the investigation into the organization’s organization. last year following the toxic workplace investigation.
